If you have an ATV, UTV, or side-by-side sitting unused in your garage or barn, consider donating it to CarLift Utah. Many of our donors are fellow outdoor enthusiasts from Salt Lake City who have enjoyed countless adventures on trails and at hunting cabins. Whether your vehicle is a rugged Honda Rancher or a speedy Polaris RZR, your donation can greatly impact local families in need.
We understand that life can shift, leaving you with vehicles that no longer fit your lifestyle. Perhaps you've upgraded to a newer model or transitioned from outdoor activities. Whatever the reason, CarLift Utah provides a straightforward and meaningful way to give back to the community while allowing you to reclaim space and get tax benefits in return.

How pickup works
When you donate your ATV, UTV, or side-by-side, we make the pickup process seamless. Our team often utilizes a small flatbed truck or a trailer to transport your vehicle, especially for those without a title. If you possess a Manufacturer's Statement of Origin (MSO) or can provide a bill of sale, we can navigate the paperwork efficiently. For off-road-only vehicles, VIN or engine number identification is essential, and we can assist with that. Our team will coordinate a convenient pickup time that works for you, whether it’s at your home, farm, or a storage lot.
What drives donation value
The value of your donated ATV or UTV can depend on various factors. Generally, vehicles with more hours of use rather than mileage tend to retain higher values, particularly for 4-stroke models. A well-maintained Polaris RZR or Can-Am UTV, complete with service records, can fetch a strong return in the used market. However, while cosmetic issues such as dents and plastic fade may decrease value, a vehicle's runability can positively influence its worth. Even non-running units have parts value, making your donation valuable regardless of its condition.
Documentation you need
- Title (if applicable)
- Manufacturer's Statement of Origin (MSO) for off-road vehicles
- Bill of sale (if necessary)
- Service records for better valuation
- Appraisal for classic models (IRS Form 8283 Section B)
Salt Lake City specifics
In Utah, the DMV has specific regulations for off-road vehicles like ATVs and UTVs. While some vehicles may not require a title for off-road use, it’s essential to understand the necessary documentation for your donation. When donating an off-road vehicle, we typically work with a bill of sale chain and can guide you through the process to ensure a smooth transaction. CarLift Utah is dedicated to supporting local regulations and making your donation experience straightforward.
